    you cant look for …
you cant look for other peoples guitar tones and copy it(if that is what you were going for) its all down to amp, guitar, pick, strings and the person playing most of all you gotta find your own tone thats one the best things about guitar :)

    I don’t think about …
I don’t think about modes. I just use the root major scale for all seven chords that are built on the one scale. So G7 would be considered a chord built on the fifth of the C major scale. I’m aware of what chord I’m on and what the chord tones are.

  6. BboyArpeggios Says:

    Major, minor, minor …
Major, minor, minor, major, dominant, minor, and half diminished. Therez a flat 7 in dominant, so it cant be a major scale. The half diminished is a minor & diminished scale. Think minor 7b5. Good lesson, ima start useing the root, 3rd, and 5th more when i solo. Never thought of useing it like that, nice job.

    yes scales are …
yes scales are boring, but i didn’t say run up the scale.

  11. dakoman0327 Says:

    @astrosaki nope …
@astrosaki nope would be be min dim maj min min maj maj… like starting on A in the Cmaj scale. A=C’s natural minor.

  12. dakoman0327 Says:

    this is cool but …
this is cool but how do people shredd and make it sound good if you play a progression switch to a dmin and run up the c scale… it sounds so bland and stupid.

  14. astrosaki Says:

    ooh i see. thanks. …
ooh i see. thanks. would it bethe same for minor?

  15. wkriski Says:

    yes there is a …
yes there is a pattern. for major scales the chords will be major, minor, minor, major, major, minor, diminished.
    so c major c major, d min, e min, F maj, G maj, Amin, B dim.
then you need to learn the notes in each chord. c maj is c e g, etc so you can target the chord tones

  16. astrosaki Says:

    is there a pattern …
is there a pattern that u can apply to each scale? like if you know the notes of a scale how do you know which chords those root notes make? like how did you know for the c maj scale that d makes dmin and f makes fmaj?

  17. Ablithealbino Says:

    to find out root …
to find out root notes u usually need to know scale intervals and thirds, so say for an a major chord, to build it u take the I III V intervals and put them together . so an A major chord is built up with A= I Csharp=III E= V . u need to look up how to build scales. Which for major is TTTSTTST im pretty sure and numbers present each note. 1through to 8 look up how to build scales and do it that way cause im not completely sure about that TTTSTTST stuff

  18. LiderWolf Says:

    lol xD
    lol xD

  19. wkriski Says:

    yeah you need to …
yeah you need to know the notes in each chord. the best way is to know how to build chords and write them out for each key. So for c major scale (C D E F G A B). you have Cmaj, Dmin, Emin, Fmaj, Gmaj, Amin, Bdim
Cmaj is C,E,G. Dmin is D F A. E min is E G B, etc so you skip every other note to build a chord. I can’t explain it all here though :)

  20. anggitarako Says:

    dude thanks for the …
dude thanks for the lesson its helpful. But I do not know what are the roots for each major and minor chord for instance u said that for d minor the roots are d, c, and f as fifth notes. how can i know the roots per major and minor scale i think that would doing the scales much more easier if i knew what the roots per major and minor chords.
